In conjunction with NUS Arts Festival ‘08, the club will be organizing ‘Anime! Anime!’, a night of talks and film screening for all!
The main bulk of the events will occur on 29 Feb 08 at the NUS University Cultural Center. From 6 – 7.30pm, Shinya Enomoto and Sinn Chun Hou from animation school, 77star pte ltd will give a talk on “Animation and You” at the NUS Museum Celadon Room. 77star Pte Ltd is the newly opened animation school locally here that offers many anime-related courses from seiiyu, animation, manga and sfx. Come down and hear about what this new kid in the block has to say about the topic.
Following the talk, the club will be screening two popular anime films at the UCC Courtyard. From 8 – 9.30pm, The Girl who Leapt through Time will be screened. Then from 9.45 – 11.15pm, Tokyo Godfathers (courtesy of Animax). It is an open air screening and admission will be free to all.
The club will also be conducting the soft launch of Graphite ‘08 at the event. Come down and learn more about it.
Finally, during the course of these three weeks, the club will be setting up a small manga reading corner at the NUS Museum, ST Lee Atrium. There will be plenty of English mangas (provided by Ani-Play) available for your reading pleasure in between breaks or before the other art festival events starts. The reading corner will be open on 22-23 Feb, 29 Feb-01 Mar, 07-08 Mar from 4 – 8pm.

NEW: Due to certain logistical difficulties, we regret to announce that the screening of Tokyo Godfathers has been cancelled. Although Tokyo Godfathers has been cancelled, the talk and screening of ‘The Girl who Leapt through Time’ will still go on at 6pm and 8pm. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and seek you kind understanding. Thank you for all your support so far and we hope that you would continue to support us.
