Venue: CLB4. It’s a bench outside of Central Library. You know. Right smack near the stuffy elevator.
Time: 12pm – 6pm daily.
Fee: $5 for the entire year. For those of you who need to renew your membership, now is the time to do so.

Gunart is the name of a series of Combined Workshops the National University of Singapore Comics and Animation which is back. A HG modelling course is being planned for November/December 09 for modelling enthusiasts which will instruct you on constructing a gundam model kit, from assembling to painting and finishing. It will be taught by Scaled Modelling Club from Kampong Glam CC.
We would like to know who how many will be interested in this course, so please vote if you do. Voting does not automatically force you to participate, it is just a survey of interest. There is a “no” vote, if you choose so,do let us know the reason so.

We are having our first OFFICIAL members’ gathering on Wednesday, 09/09/09, and we are going to…. meet other members.
Sounds boring? Then bring your secret identities, and prepare to meet other closet superheroes. Come with proof so no one can doubt you! Wear your mask, or your Sailor moon diadem, or if bring an artwork you’re actually Akamatsu Ken in disguise. We will play a little game and I hope you have a good memory, because forgetful people will get to be awesome. Other perks include instant fame, batteries not included.
In short, Wednesday 9th Sept, in addition to being Cirno day, is our first official gathering. Be there, and profit. Oh and don’t bring any cake or food into Celadon room.

This year, NUS Comics and Animation Society (NUSCAS), NTU Visual Arts Society (NTUVAS), Collateral Damage Studios(CDS) and Techcomix have banded together to bring Extravaganza ‘09, an illustration showcase event celebrating the regions best up and coming artistic talent!
Combining the various entities’ signature art events, Extravaganza ‘09 features art competitions comprising of INK! (Traditional Art) and Graphite (Digital Art Competition) and the illustration exhibition Kaleidoscope. Techcomix will also be hosting an online art gallery where artists who upload their works stand to win special prizes!
The overall theme for Extravaganza this year is “Gaming”, highlighting the close ties between gaming and illustration in the gaming industry. To all of you young artists out there! Extravaganza ‘09 is here to help your talent get recognized! With a chance to showcase your artwork and with judges from Imaginary Friends Studios and TKG Comics Circle, entering into the competition and exhibitions will give you the exposure needed to boost your artistic career! Registration and submission of competition and exhibition entries begins now and ends in October. The Extravaganza illustration showcase itself will be held in November 2009 during Anime Festival Asia 2009. A shout out to everyone who attended the Welcome Tea session last friday: THANK YOU for having joined us for a night of fun and laughter. For those who did not manage to attend it for one reason or another, you can still renew or register yourself as a member of the club on the 20th and 21st august.
The NUS Comics and Animation Society will be having a recruitment booth at the Central Library Walkway Bench 4 (near the staircase leading down to the Grinning Gecko) on 20th to 21th Aug 2009 from 11am to 6pm. Registration or renewal fee will be $5. For those who are keen, you can sign up for the exco-committee as well and an interview will be scheduled the following week.
Just turn up at any time at the booth within the timing stated and look for any one of us.
