Greetings to all who signed up or still want to sign up. Here’s a little event update for the coming week.
Interview:
Date: 19 & 20 August (Tuesday and Wednesday)
Time: 1800-1930 hrs
Venue: Celadon Room, University Cultural Centre (UCC)
In case if you’re not sure where the UCC is, it’s the building beside the Yong Siew Toh Music Conservatory. The main entrance features this large phrase “I WAS HERE”. Coincidentally, UCC is also the venue where the annual National Day Rally is held. Drop us a mail if you’re still unsure of where it is. We strongly encourage anyone who’s interested in becoming part of the committee to come on down. The interviews will be held in an informal manner so don’t worry.
Welcome Tea:
Date: 22 August (Friday)
Time: 1800-1930 hrs
Venue: Lecture Theatre 28, Science Faculty
For the benefit of those non-science members, Lecture Theatre 28 is located at the Science Foyer. Apart from the Welcome Tea, we will also be having our Annual General Meeting (AGM), which includes the unveiling of the new exco for the Academic Year 08/09. Light refreshments will be provided, so do join us if you’re able! We’ll also be having dinner together after the AGM, so those attending the event can join us for dinner too.
For both events, we will still be accepting registrations, so if you haven’t done so, you can just come down to register. See you guys soon!
Do be informed that today will be the last day of our registration booth. Interested parties do turn up at the Central Library Walkway to sign up with us! We are at the bench near the staircase leading up to the Chinese Library and Engineering Faculty. For those who might forget to register at our booth, or are interested at a later date, do mail in to us(like many have already done) and we will approach you for registration. Act fast and you might just be in time for our Welcome Tea Session!

You see them around the NUS bazaars. That booth that sells all those Japanese titbits, manga and such. I am proud to announce that BON JAPAN is officially an affiliate of the club now. All card holding members will get at least a 5% discount on all items and 20% discount for purchase of Taiwan-published comics when you buy at their main shopfront or at any of their booths during any bazaar.

Welcome everyone, undergraduates and freshies! Welcome back to a new year on campus! As the new year comes, it is time once again to renew or register yourself as the member of the club.
The NUS Comics and Animation Society will be having a recruitment booth at the Central Library Walkway Bench 5 (near the staircase leading down to the Grinning Gecko) on 13th to 15th Aug 08 from 10am to 4pm. Registration or renewal fee will be $5. Check the club website for more details.
For anyone who wants to sign up or renew their membership, just turn up at any time at the booth within the timing stated and look for any one of us. Feel free to drop by and talk to any of us there.
The club is always looking out for affiliates to provide special deals for our members. This time, our new affiliate is Otaku House! Located at Suntec’s My. Playground, it specializes in selling anime-related collectibles and cosplay items.
They have agreed to give all members of the club 5% discount with the minimum purchase of $30. That is, if you flash them your membership card. So remember to bring along your membership card wherever you go! You never know which shops might be offering you special deals exclusive to club members.
We have just secured yet another deal for our members with our new affiliate store, AniPlay.
When you sign up as a NUS Comics and Animation Society member, you will automatically be given an AniPlay online Premium membership. Other than that, NUS anime club members can also enjoy board games at AniPlay’s Sunset Way branch throughout the entire day with a fixed price of $15 per table. We are currently in talks with more companies to bring you more discounts, benefits and promotions just by wielding the club card.
